Dividend

A portion of a company's profits paid to shareholders, usually quarterly or annually. Expressed as Dividend Per Share (DPS) or Dividend Yield (%).

Formula

Dividend Yield = Annual DPS / Share Price × 100

Example

Coal India paying ₹25/share dividend on a ₹250 stock = 10% dividend yield.
