Large Cap

A company among the largest listed by market capitalisation. In India, SEBI defines large caps as the top 100 companies by market cap; in the US the term generally means a valuation above $10 billion. They are typically more stable and less volatile than smaller companies.

Example

Reliance, TCS and HDFC Bank are Indian large caps; Apple and Microsoft are US equivalents.
