Free Cash Flow

The cash a company generates after accounting for capital expenditures (capex). Represents money available for dividends, debt repayment, buybacks, or reinvestment.

Formula

FCF = Operating Cash Flow − Capital Expenditures

Example

TCS generating ₹40,000 Cr operating cash and spending ₹2,000 Cr on capex = ₹38,000 Cr FCF.
